Cardinals Looking To Extend Daryl Washington's Contract
The Cardinals would like to extend the contract of inside linebacker Daryl Washington.
Washington is entering his third season with Arizona and represents an important cog in their defensive scheme.
"He's a very talented player and he has demonstrated that he's the type of guy that we want in our program for the long term," general manager Rod Graves said.
"We're hoping we can get to a point where we can sit down and talk about extending our relationship with him. He certainly is one that we're focused on doing that with."
Washington also would like an extension.
"I certainly want to be here for a long time. This is where I want to end my career, hopefully," he said.
Clady Calls Off Contract Talks With Broncos
Ryan Clady has rejected a $50 million contract extension with the Broncos and called off further negotiations.
Clady, a two-time Pro Bowl left tackle, ended talks Monday on an extension until after the 2012 season.
Clady declined to discuss his contract situation.
Flacco, Ravens Working Towards Deal
Joe Linta, the agent for Joe Flacco, spent Sunday negotiating a contract extension with the Ravens.
After his meeting with Baltimore general manager Ozzie Newsome and vice president of football administration Pat Moriarty, Linta said that a date by which the extension must be completed has not been set.
Flacco is set to earn a $6.76 million base salary in the final year of his rookie contract.
